Policy, Coordination and Implementation

The Policy, Coordination and Implementation Branch has the following objectives:

• to monitor strategic policy issues and to provide policy advice to the Chief Minister, Cabinet and line agencies
• to perform a coordination role in the area of inter government relations and other areas where a whole-of-government position is required
• to monitor the implementation of key Government priorities across the public service and to coordinate reports to Cabinet on progress by Agencies with the implementation of Cabinet Decisions and policies
• to provide NTG Agencies with support in relation to policy implementation and risk management.

The Branch liaises closely with other Agencies in relation to strategic policy development and, within the Department, liaises closely with the Office of Indigenous Policy, the Community Engagement Unit and the Cabinet Office. The Branch also provides support to the Cabinet Budget Sub-Committee.

The Policy, Coordination and Implementation Branch reports to the Acting Executive Director Policy, Alastair Shields.
