A great place to live and work
The Department has a key role in making sure that the Northern Territory remains a great place to live and work, as well as marketing it to potential new Territorians.
We contribute to maintaining the Northern Territory’s fantastic lifestyle in a number of ways. For example:
- Our Northern Territory Major Events Company identifies and attracts major sporting and cultural events such as the V8 Supercars, Alice Springs Masters Games, Arafura Games, BASSINTHEDUST, and BASSINTHEGRASS.
- We support the Northern Territory’s multicultural population through events and grant schemes run by our Office of Multicultural Affairs.
- We create and coordinate whole-of-government campaigns such as the Great Territory Jobs core services recruitment campaign to help make sure the community has the services it needs.
The Department is also responsible for marketing the Territory as a place to live, work and invest through the www.theterritory.com.au website.
