Community Cabinet is an initiative of the Territory Government to enable individuals and community groups throughout the Northern Territory to meet directly with Government Ministers and Chief Executive Officers. It is part of a commitment to provide a Government which is accessible to all Territorians, no matter where they live. Held in conjunction with Community Cabinet, Women’s Forums give all women the chance to raise issues and concerns directly with the Chief Minister and the Minister for Women’s Policy.
The Government’s vision for women in the Northern Territory is:
"That each woman in the Northern Territory will have equal opportunities to reach her full potential”. Click here to find out more about whole-of-government responses to priorities for women.
The Northern Territory Major Events Company identifies and attracts major sporting and cultural events which have the potential to benefit the Northern Territory by providing substantial economic and social benefits.
Community engagement refers to a new way in which the Territory Government works with people in the community which encourages and rewards active citizenship. Rather than consulting with people on pre-determined policy directions, community engagement encourages a continuous conversation with citizens about shaping government policy and improving service delivery.
